Founded in 1987, Nutri Feeds & Farms Pvt. Ltd. is a leader in India’s poultry sector, specializing in breeding, hatching, contract farming, and premium feeds with trusted brands Nutri Fresh Chicken and The Better Chicken.
Nutri Feeds is established as a sole proprietorship on December 13, 1987. The first feed plant is set up in Doddanna Industrial Estate, Peenya, Bengaluru, providing poultry and animal feed exclusively to Rallies India.
Nutri Feeds is incorporated as a company. We expand our operations, launching animal and poultry feed manufacturing for the open market.
The company acquires Rallies India’s farms and begins independent breeding operations, alongside the existing feed manufacturing business. Nutri Feeds also begins retailing live birds.
Nutri Feeds initiates its integration division, expanding across South India, working with over 1,000 contract farmers.
Nutri Feeds establishes a state-of-the-art poultry hatchery on the outskirts of Bengaluru, reinforcing our commitment to high-quality breeding operations..
Nutri Feeds enters the processed meat industry, establishing a dedicated vertical for meat processing and retail. Traditional-format Nutri Fresh chicken stores are launched across Bengaluru.

MCR Shetty, Managing Director, Head of Operations
Sri MCR Shetty, our managing director and founder is a first generation entrepreneur with 44 years of experience. He founded Nutri Feeds in the year 1987 initially as a sole proprietorship to cater to the feed requirements of Rallies India. Over the years, through his vision and leadership, Nutri Feeds has transformed from a feed manufacturer to one of the leading professionally led, integrated poultry companies in India.He was instrumental in introducing a comprehensive R&D plan for feed manufacturing, nutrition and meat processing. He has also introduced crucial bio-security and management protocols across all integrated units. He has served as the President of the Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), which is the apex body for small and medium industries and associations in Karnataka and has made notable contributions to the progress of the small-scale industry movement in Karnataka. In his tenure, KASSIA Udyog Bhavan was conceptualised and inaugurated. He has also served as the President of the Karnataka Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association (KPFBA) which is the flagship, umbrella organisation for all poultry companies, breeders, farmers and poultry integrators in the state of Karnataka. Under his leadership, a full time secretariat of the KPFBA came into being. He led many key policy and trade related interventions on behalf of the association and industry with the State and Central Governments. He has equal interest in social activities particularly in the areas of education, sports and spiritual activities.
Shyam S. Udupa, Marketing Director
Shyam S. Udupa spearheads marketing, feed manufacturing and sales. He has more than 33 years of experience in the poultry industry, with prior stints in India Poultry Farm, TATA Oil Mills and Rallies India. With a passion that transcends mere leadership, he is a living testament to the power of dedication and hard work. A true founder in spirit, Mr. Shyam has successfully shaped the identity of the company. He has contributed to the ideation and overall administration and growth of the company. He looks after marketing and feed operations with a team of marketing personnel . He is also involved in the day to day administration of the company. His vast experience has helped to bring professionalism in the breeding, feed milling and marketing departments.

Ajey R. Shetty, Chief of Retail and Processing
Ajey R. Shetty oversees Nutri Feeds’ meat retail and processing divisions, bringing a wealth of expertise in business and marketing to the company. With a graduate degree in business management and a postgraduate degree in marketing from Newcastle, Ajey has been instrumental in launching the company’s modern retail stores under the brand ‘The Better Chicken.’ His leadership ensures the seamless operation of Nutri Feeds’ retail and processing divisions, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
